Film evaporator
Film evaporators represent an advanced technological solution in the field of water cooling. They are able to effectively reduce the water temperature to the range of 0.5 – 1 °C. A controlled temperature differential is critical to achieving optimum evaporator performance.
The essence of film evaporator operation is the use of Freon (or ammonia) as a refrigerant, which evaporates inside a system of heat-exchange corrugated plates. This process takes place at sub-zero temperatures around -5 °C. This complex internal interaction ensures high efficiency of heat transfer, which in turn optimizes the ratio of heat exchange area to cooling capacity.
The complete set of film evaporators can be adapted according to the needs of the customer. The complete package includes heat exchange surfaces, an overhead distribution manifold, an enclosure and an ice water collection tank. However, depending on the requirements of the customer, options are possible that exclude some of the listed elements.
